Hey there Beth! The door does lock during the cycle, but will unlock when the cycle is paused. Details about how and when you can pause the cycle can be found on page 35 of the User Manual (https://bit.ly/2QrgGjz). ^Jecca

It has a pause button to pause the cycle

Yes it does lock at all times. Good safety device if u have younger kids . if somebody know how to shut it off please share
