Great questions. Though the resolution of the (720p/1080p) signal may be different between all the service providers, all image signals will be transmitted at 60Hz (due to FCC regulations). The 120Hz on the Samsung TVs is actually a feature that takes the 60Hz signal and upconverts it to 120Hz. The 120Hz image makes the signal seem more lifelike and due to the nature of 120Hz, you will actually see more of the picture. This feature is great if you are the type of person that watches plenty of HD sports. -MrSamsung
