“Issue with TV not getting 4K resolution banner message I have the new Samsung 4K player model UBD-K8500 hooked up via a monster cable to the HDMI HDCP 2.2 input on a new Yamaha Receiver. I then have a monster cable running from the HDMI HDCP 2.2 out jack to the HDMI 4 ARC input jack on my Samsung 40 inch UN40JU7100 TV. On occasion when a 4K disk boots up, I'll get a quick blue banner that says something to the effect that I don't have a 2.2 compliant input jack. Therefore the movie will only play in the HD Blu-ray version.. My question is, is the 7100 model TV HDCP 2.2 compliant? If it is, why am I getting this notification that playback will only be in Blu-ray resolution. I don't see this banner every time and there is no way to check the video bit rate with the new K8500 player. Ultimately, I can't tell for sure if I am getting 4K content to my 7100 TV. I read somewhere about this issue and a work around was to run an HDMI cable directly from the 4K player to the 7100 TV. There is another HDMI jack on the player that says for audio only and the article said to run that cable to the receiver.”
