It actually on upscale a to whatever you are playing whether it be 480 720 1080 1080p or uhd

If you're watching something that is a lower resolution, it will simply upscale it to fill the screen. FWIW, I have never noticed ANY issues with images being blurry or anything other than beautiful on this screen. I would recommend turning off the True Motion, though.
