• Yes. The base is almost as wide as the TV. It stands very nicely. No need for wall mount unless one prefers that.

• I also use the stand as I didn't want to wall-mount. The stand appears to be strong enough. I haven't noticed any issues. The TV is very light so it doesn't require that strong a base to start with.
