Yes you can use the digital output from the optical out from the TV but you will need a convertor .You can get one at Micro center or on line.It is a little gadget which has an Optical input and Rca output to plug into you Amplifier This converts your digital signal to analog signal.I have one that I use and it works great. Remember this is for Audio only so it comes with two outs a left and a right. There is a also an adapter to plug in the unit to an AC outlet to power the unit.Good luck.
