An excellent value for a 4K TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV on Cyber Monday. It was an excellent value. By and large it is a great TV for what I paid. Let's start with the CONS. When the TV was shipped, the packaging was slightly mangled. When the TV was unwrapped, there we two small cracks on the left side of the bezel. It was not visible on the front of the TV, so I did not return the TV (I didn't want to risk a "refurb" replacement if it was returned, because the rest of the TV was mostly fine). The sound from the downward speakers do not sound great. Certain passages sound muted. I adjusted some settings, and it sounded a little better. But still, I'd say the sound is mediocre at best. You'd definitely need a speaker system, sound bar, or subwoofer to enhance the sound. I just use a subwoofer. There can also be a slight delay with sound and video. There is an adjustment, but sometimes, it seems not adjustable. The remote is a little cheap. Buttons are too close. But, it does the job. There are no controls on the TV itself. This, I think is a big minus, especially for those with kids. Remotes get lost and turning off the TV is a hassle when you have to find the remote. The unit itself is very light. Doesn't weigh like a quality TV would. But, when you turn it on, the PROS begin: The brightness is very good. Again, it takes adjustment, but it can be adjusted to a very good viewing level. Colors are nice and mostly balanced. Jutter does exist. There is an adjustment, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. If you look for jutter, you will see it. If you don't look for it, you mostly won't notice it. This TV is actually 60Hz, not 120Hz. It has some sort of simulated 120Hz, but it is really not that effective. Focus and clarity is what I thought was the best thing about this TV. The picture is so clear, you can see people's pimples and stubble on medium sustained shots. Rendering (upscaling) of non high definition content is excellent. DVDs look like BluRay, BluRay looks like 4K. The menu system is fairly intuitive. Navigating through different functions and different internal menus (ie, Neflix and Amazon) was easy. The rendition of Netflix and Amazon is where some of the jutter exists. The USB port does play different media. I tried MP4 and mkv. They work quite well. Wifi and direct ethernet work. Surprisingly, wifi was just as fast as direct ethernet. I read somewhere that there were some problems with wifi. I didn't experience them. One thing it didn't have on this model was bluetooth. So, I would have to use the USB for the mouse and keyboard. I think it can use bluetooth usb as well. But, turned out not to matter much because the web browser does not play Flash (and it won't anytime soon from what I read). So, that takes away a lot website access. Therefore, I don't use the browser that much (the interface is not so great anyway). DO NOT buy this TV for the web-browser. You will be disappointed. Other than that, I would say the functionality of the TV is great. For what I paid, it is excellent TV for the value. Recommend buy if you get it on sale and if this is your first 4K TV.

Awesome Picture Right out of the box.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just purchased this TV yesterday and set it up at the cottage. The setup was painless without even reading the user manual. My previous TV was also a Samsung also but 720P and I was happy with the picture but this new one is incredibly sharp and bright and the audio is crystal clear. We live in a remote area and TV reception by antenna is very weak and the old Samsung 720 would pixelate and drop out quite often but after viewing the new one for 5 hours, not once did it pixelate. I'll write another review after I use the set for a while but right now I am a very happy camper.

Wow, what a TV!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Originally bought a different Samsung 40,J5200 model, right after Blk Friday for $307 ( open box ). After setting it all up I was so disappointed. First off, if your not sitting right in front of it, the blacks turn purple and since the refresh rate is 60 forget watching sports or anything moving too fast. Drops the pixels...All hooked up with full HD and I thought I was watching a upgraded Standard TV. Next day all boxed up, back it went. Tony the Mgr at the Beaumont store was Great. Found me this Samsung 40JU6400 on sale for $449 This one was not on the floor to sample, but for a few dollars more, I thought I'd give it a try. Soon as I got it all set up and switched to Dynamic mode. Wowie, Wowie, did my eyes get a sight! So crisp and clear. This definitely was the right choice. Just maybe wait till it goes on sale again. I saw it go up today to $749. Thank You, Russell, Tony and the gang at BB.

Great TV for Fantastic Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was able to get this Smart TV for $599 + Tax and I'm very happy with it. Having the Apps built-in is awesome, Netflix, Youtube and the other Apps work flawlessly. Only a slight problem, there's a slight lag on raising or lowering the volume. It just started, it think it's related to software updates, but other than that it's great. I highly recommend it.

Great 4K TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This 4K is awesome. I wanted a 4K TV that wouldn't take up the entire wall and this TV fits the bill perfectly. I love all the built in Smart TV features since I no longer have to start a connected device to stream video. I have had no problem streaming HD video so far, and the wireless stream has actually been more stable than my laptop. It was really easy to set up and has a user friendly interface that even my 60+ year old mother can easily navigate. Overall a great purchase.

overwhelming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to use mainly as a monitor for a computer, and to that end it has been just fine. the default refresh is 30hz, make a step up in the model line and you get 60hz. this has not really impacted me as the HDMI can really only handle 30hz, and a single GPU can't really cope beyond that. I don't play FP shooters, I play RPG's and the image and colors are awesome. Be ready for the impact on everything you do, so many pixels means that wallpaper that filled your screen is small now, and you had better have great eyes, because text will be tiny (yes you can adjust that later). That is why it is overwhelming, so many dots. Color and picture quality have been great, everything is so sharp, can't wait for content to catch up. One note, area dimming can do weird things with the backlight when looking at images that are darker in tone, might be an issue for people who do lots of photo editing. Over all, I'm very happy.

Great Picture For Its Size
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.if you are in the market for a 4K TV but don't want to go 55" route the Samsung 40 class is your next best bet. The clarity of this TV is unmatched. Perfect for that smaller space The den or the bedroom.
