Setting up to my DVD player is pretty simple just plug it using the HDMI cable.

The specifications say it has a Composite Video Input which is an RCA type plug that has Yellow, Red, and White for your VHS Player (see picture 2). A DVD can also hook up this way but won't look as good unless you use HDMI cable which will show High Definition. The same holds true with a DirecTv box, using the HDMI connection will give you the best picture quality. Look at the back of each of the things you want to connect and see what output they have. HDMI is a flat, wide plug (see picture 1), the RCA type plugs look like regular, fashioned stereo plugs except that instead of just Red and White (for Right and Left) you have a Yellow plug for video. Remember, that yellow plug is the lowest quality video you can use but VHS only plays in that format. Hope this helps!
