• Pretty much the same thing. I happened to have the 7 model. The screen started going black almost exactly at the two year mark. I did Geek Squad additional insurance/warranty when I bought the 7. So, because it was a lemon, it was replaced with the 8. The picture seems better, the sound quality seems better, the remote have more features. Overall, I think the tv looks better even as the two models are pretty similar.
