Most newer televisions & receivers are on standby with the power tuned off. The only way eliminate this would be to unplug the tv from the outlet.

If you are referring to the light on the bottom of your TV, that is simply to let you know if it is off or on. Other than that, you would need to unplug your TV from the wall. ~Samsung Advisor
