• When I got the unit, I also got a Sony Blue-Ray player and both were installed at the same time, so you should not have a problem with a DVD player. I use cable, so see no reason why you should have a problem with Directv.

• I have my Blu-ray DVD player connected and it works fine. So far I am unable to connect head phones to this unit. I am contacting Samsung to get an answer for this problem.
