• You need a Roku player but will not regret the purchase. It allows you to also subscribe to other great channels such as Netflix (which is well worth the monthly fee) as well as many free channels such as YouTube, Roku itself has lots of free movies and shows, Pluto, etc, lots of entertainment out there when you own a Roku player.

• Smart TVs have apps much like your phone. You can sign onto HULU, Prime, or Netflix by clicking on the app at the Home screen. You do not need Roku. I actually think Roku TVs are much more difficult to use.
