“Can it be connected to just an antenna without using a converter box?”

• I'm thinking of purchasing this TV and since it has antenna input, I'm pretty sure you won't need a converter box. My Mother has a 2 year old Samsung 32 inch model and she does not need a converter box for that. She just uses an antenna hooked up to the antenna input and the local stations come in very good. Hope this helps.

• Yes, this tv is capable of receiving digital signals and adding an antenna will boost the picture signal.
