If, for example, you intend to use it with a cable box, streaming unit, video player, or video game console which will not exceed 60fps, a 120hz refresh rate will make no difference and is a waste and not worth the price difference.
If, however, you intend to connect the TV to a pc or other device that will be capable of meeting higher consistent frame rates for a more responsive gaming or live action experience, it can make a very large difference.
