Comcast has a 4K receiver available which is much better than the old on I had from 2016. Swap the receiver even if you don't have a 4K TV since the new one is better, smaller and doesn't have a loud fan running all night.

I owned one of the TVs for two years and just bought the QLED. 4k has four times the picture resolution as 1080p, it can handle the 1080p input and helps you to be future proof as cable increases their resolution. Watch Hockey or football and compare to your existing 1080 p TV.

If there was a live tv show in 4k that was coming through your box it wouldn't display in 4k because your box would hold it back. If you have Comcast go get the 4k box. Not much 4k content on live tv though.
