Great question, RI! Samsung does recommend leaving the washer door at least slightly open to allow air flow into the drum and prevent things such as odors and mold. ^Jecca

If it has a function to dry the inside, I haven’t found it yet. We keep our door closed.. I will tell you though, the spin cycle is very efficient, because our clothes are almost dry when we pull them out to dry them. So, we don’t have to run our dryer for very long , which is nice. Until we got this washer, we didn’t realize how far technology has advanced on washing machines.
