Unfortunately, you do. However, the new SWA-9500S are truly wireless (they only need power) and have two up-firing speakers for your Dolby Atmos as well. I have heard they are quite lackluster though.. The up-firing speakers are great but they also mean you can't mount them high.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Serroco! The HW-Q850A Rear Speakers connect to the wireless module, which allows you to place these three units in the back of your room. One wire is required to connect each rear speaker to the wireless module. Then plug in the power cable to the module. The “wireless” convenience is in connecting your soundbar and any other speakers at the front of the room to the rear speakers – this can now be done via Wi-Fi through the wireless module, eliminating any clutter of long wires running the length of your room. ^Tim
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You do! However, ”the box” is not the sound bar. The speakers are wireless to the sound bar. However, there is a small box that rear speakers must be connected to. The wire is plenty long and small so you can get good distance between rear speakers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The rear surround speakers are connected by speaker wire to a small receiver that requires AC power.
