“My TV is an older LG with at least 4 HDMI connections but not one of them is labeled HDMI ARC It does however have an optical cable out. Will this be sufficient to obtain Dolby Atmos conectivity until I can get a TV that fully supports?”

Hi there, it's unlikely (almost impossible actually) an older TV will be able to pass Dolby Atmos. You might try sending the content source to the sound bar first then to the TV via HDMI. That should do the trick. I hope this helped! ^Scott
