Hello DocMRP, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate you letting us know your inquiry if the top washer sense the size of a load of laundry for the amount of water used or if it's the same standard amount of water every time. We understand that this information may be essential for you to know. We're here to help. As per checking, Samsung washing machines use various technologies to minimize how much water is used. Automatic temperature control also reduces how much hot water is used by mixing cold water as much as possible. In addition, Samsung washing machines are high efficiency (HE) and use significantly less water than previous generations while still getting your clothes clean. You may check the user manual to learn more about the product. https://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201908/20190809104746599/FlexWash_WV9600M_DC68-03768B-07_EN_CFR_MES.pdf You may refer to the help link below for any water fill issues. https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01203005/ For other concerns, do not hesitate to reach out via our Support Channels below: 1. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm pretty sure it uses a standard amount of water. It's a very small amount to being with and it needs enough water to de-suds. Anything less and you're probably doing it in the sink by hand.
