Hi Brian, We empathize with you on your experience with the lid of your Samsung washing machine model. We are here to help. The lid has a plastic covering when it comes out from the factory. If this is the case, you may remove this protective layer. However, if this protective layer had been removed and the scratch is on the lid the scratch won't be removed.
