“We bought a home with this oven. The gliding rack is stuck in the closed position. It seems one side won't slide. We wonder if we're doing something wrong or if we have a broken rack that should be replaced. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.”

There is no trick to sliding the rack. It either works or it doesn't. If yours will not move it is either jammed or something is stuck in the track that is keeping it from moving.
