When the oven is on, there is a lot of heat that escapes through the back vent under the control panel. This does cause a lot of heat to be present on the back half of the back burners. I have not had the experience of the heat escaping from the top center burner. The owner's manual does describe the heat that will be generated from the back vent but couldn't find anything about the center burner. May be worth a call to SamSung...

That's where the oven vent is. I actually use that area to keep food warm when the oven is on!
