• There is no difference between a smooth top and a ceramic cook top. All of the smooth surface cook tops are made of glass-ceramic materials that share the properties of both glass and ceramic material.

• I do not think there is any. Ceramic is what they were called 10 years or so ago. Now they are called smooth top cook ranges.
