How do I adjust the volume? null

This was so frustrating for me too! A friend actually had to show me - on the remote, rather than push down on the volume button (which I think just mutes it), you shove it up or down kind of like a light switch. I think this is a decent TV, but that remote leaves pretty much everything to be desired. Hope this helps.
