• It sounds like the power board circuit is defective. I had a similar problem with a different model TV where the bypass capacitors on the power board were not rated for the correct voltage and eventually wore them out.

• You might have a defective TV. Mine has never done that. Always turns on with one press of the button. I would try to get them to replace it.
