It means the signal source you are viewing is in 1080P. If you got to the YouTube app and search out 4K videos it will then play in full Ultra-High Definition. I recommend a short video called "Costa Rica in 4K 60fps" to check how clear the television is capable of being. It is just a few minutes long and has very good and clear video in it. Your other options would be connecting a 4k Blue Ray player Or subscribing to NetFlix(limited 4K content) or UltraFlix free to subscribe then fee per movie watched.
