Buy a longer HDMI cable to avoid possible signal degredation.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can run an hdmi cable up to about 40 feet without any kind of booster. I have the exact same thing your trying to do now with two 10 foot HDMI cords and a female/female HDMI plug, works perfectly.

I think samsung sells an 8 foot cable but it's pricey. I put some Velcro down and attached the box to the back of the tv then ran my cables to it.
