Many commercials haven't been re-recorded in 1080 resolution so you may be seeing older commercials that are being rebroadcast in their native 480p resolution. If you are referring to your cable signal, make sure you are signed up for HD, and you may need to edit your cable tuner box to output in 1080p. Most cable boxes still default to 480p resolution. Call you cable company to ask how to do that. In addition, most cable providers have SD and HD versions of their stations. So Channel 9 might be the SD version, but channel 654 might be the HD version. Make sure you are tuning into the correct channel.
