The sound is OK but if you want a big, cinematic sound, you'll have to get a speaker system. While the sound is technically stereo, you will hear it as mono from any reasonable viewing distance. That said, the sound is not "tinny", but is a decent midrange (say 300hz-8000hz).

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It depends. If you are a big music fan worried about sound quality and want a high quality deep bass sound then sound bar is must have. However if you just want sound enough to just listen from 7 to 15 feet it is loud enough for that however it may give distortion when turned more than 80 percent which is common in every lcd tv. Donot expect a very high quality from any lcd tv because they make sound bars for sale too. Over all this tv is great amazing overall and you will like it.
