• Absolutely! I have it mounted myself. Get a mount that swivels so you won't have as many problems accessing the back.

• yes it is a standard mount. When we purchased the TV we took the mount from our 40 inch plasma and bolted it on the 55. Acutally 40 plasmas from several years ago have the same footprint as 55s today
