The short answer is yes, While televisions have come a long was they still produce heat.

From the BACK of the TV, you'll experience SOME heat. That's with any TV, it's inevitable, thus they come with built in fans.. But from the front? Not so sure about that. How hot on a scale of 1 to 10? If you're still within your 15 day return policy, I'd return it.. thats just the type of person I am though.

Some heat is normal, as the picture is powered by backlighting.

If you feel it is excessive or might be warmer than it should be, please reach out to the Samsung customer service center or the Best Buy Geek Squad. They would be able to come out and inspect your set to make sure it's in proper working order.
