The short answer is yes, While televisions have come a long was they still produce heat.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.From the BACK of the TV, you'll experience SOME heat. That's with any TV, it's inevitable, thus they come with built in fans.. But from the front? Not so sure about that. How hot on a scale of 1 to 10? If you're still within your 15 day return policy, I'd return it.. thats just the type of person I am though.

If you feel it is excessive or might be warmer than it should be, please reach out to the Samsung customer service center or the Best Buy Geek Squad.
