I programmed it to respond to commands on my cable remote device from Cox Cable. Works great with this device and a also controls the cable box.

I have been using a master remote made by Logitech And have had no problems with the controls. I had it programmed by Geek Squad at the time of installation. Am using it to get Netflix without a problem. Have not used the remote that came with TV at all. But am not using a lot of the functions of the TV. Hope this helps.
