Ultra HD (sometimes UDH or 4K) is all about resolution. The leap from DVD (480p) to HD (Bluray or 1080p) is the same kind of leap we made from HD to UHD (2160p!). HDR on the other hand is less of a big deal in my opinion, it's more about picture quality and contrast I believe. If you are not a gamer and only watch TV and Movies it may be wise to stick with a regular HD 1080p television. Here are some reasons to upgrade in the future, but I wouldn't until then. * You upgraded to Netflix Ultra HD for additional cost * You buy an Ultra HD Bluray player (discs come in the black cases instead of the blue) * You buy UHD streamable movies on Vudu * You watch UHD YouTube videos on your TV (very few exist right now). * You buy a future game console (Xbox One and Playstation 4 currently are not UHD, only HD) Also worth talking about TV size. Small TVs, say 52" and below look amazing in HD. I would consider UHD only in sizes 55" and above. Best of luck!
