I'm sorry your old TV is no longer functional. Although I cannot say if a specific technology will have a similar issue or not to another, different, technology, I can say that Plasma TVs and LED-LCD TVs work on two different principles for generating an image. Samsung’s LED Televisions (also known as LED-LCD or LCD-LED) use an LCD panel that is back-lit or edge-lit by LEDs.
