“Can you connect a local tv antenna (antenna in) using a coax cable or do you need something to convert to HDMI. Also have a old Yamaha stereo receiver. Do I need to get a convert (3 chords (red,white,yellpw) to HDMI).”

I cut the cable two years ago, and broadcast TV is like cable now - except no expensive subscription. I have pared down my available stations to about 29. 1 - All broadcast TV is in hi def now. 2 - If you want to connect audio equipment to your TV, you'll need the "RCA" connectors - red and white.
