“The TV specs page says there is no RF antenna input and I am confused. Does that mean if I get rid of cable I can't use an antenna for my local broadcast channels? One answer says not and another says yes.”

Ann, There IS a RF Ant input. It is a coaxial cable input located on the rear of the set. If you look behind the TV from the right side you will see a recessed panel with a vertical string of connectors. The bottom connector is a coax labeled "ANT IN". That is your antenna input.
