It is loaded with a bunch of smart TV apps including the latest Hulu (only 2017 and 2018 models have this latest hulu app which is important if you want to buy HBO from hulu and the main reason to upgrade your older tv). This TV also allows you to add your own apps, has a great picture. If your trying to cut cable (which is the reason I upgraded to this TV it will work great. ( I now have Amazon prime, latest hulu with showtime and HBO and netflix local channels through ears and its still cheaper than paying for cable). It allows for using the internet (using a wireless keyboard) but it is harder than just using a regular computer to surf. Make sure if this is the reason you are buying the TV (to dump cable) you have a fast enough connection (Dish is to to slow with only 3mbps speed) Just type speed test to check your internet speed. The picture is amazing, and it is viewable even in bright lit rooms with lots of windows.
