I would suggest bluetooth headphones. You can get a decent one for about $50. Go to the sound output in the setting and choose blue tooth, turn on the headphones and choose them as the sound output.

Best fix to this would be to use a set of Bluetooth enabled headphones. I just tried, and successfully paired my LG Tone Platinums to the TV just to verify for you!
