Hi drsvp, 1. To scan for channels, try running Auto Program to scan for available channels: Settings > All Settings > Broadcasting > Auto Program. 2. You will need a DVR device to record or pause live programming. 3. Any recording or scheduled recording must be done through a DVR. ~Samsung Advisor
