Yes, it is installed as a stand-alone appliance. Slide-ins are usually more seamless with countertops/cabinets and don’t have controls on a raised back control panel. The controls are located on the front of the range.

A freestanding model will have finished sides that match the front exterior; while a slide in model generally has plain metal sides. However, as long as the range has proper ventilation, it can be installed between cabinets or out away from cabinets. ^Jecca
