• No you can not. The oven has a recessed area which prevents you from laying a mat down. You can either place the mat on an oven shelf above the recessed area of the oven, or purchase foil "catch all" disposable pans for this purpose. I'm planning on just laying a piece of tin foil on the lowest oven rack before I cook anything that may spill. The other alternative is to use the cleaning feature (especially the steam one" if any spills occur.
