• Yes you can. As long as the cable is an hdmi cable. I have my LG surround sound connected to the one connect works great. Also you can control the volume of your surround sound with the tv remote as well.

• There is an optical sound output on the one-connect box that connects to my receiver when I want to play the TV sound through my speakers. If your audio source has an optical input, the answer is yes.
