“Does this tv require the Connect 1 box and chord to be able to function?”

• Yes the connect box is required. There are no HDMI inputs on the tv itself. The connect box has 4 hdmi inputs, one fiber optic audio output, and a unique large connector for the cable between the connect box and the tv.

• If you are referring to the connect box included in the box with the tv I believe so. You do not have to plug in numerous cords into all different places in the back of the tv as you did with older sets. You can't believe how simple it made it to set up the television. Neat and tidy all you need to do after you mount the tv is curl up any excess wires and zip tie them.

• Yes, there are no HDMI hookups on the TV, rather just one connect point for the Connect 1 box which has all of the HDMI connect points and optical input.
