PIcture quality is great, if you use apps like netflix, hulu, prime videos etc. Ideal for streaming services.

I had your same problem. The picture was matted, and gloomy, and really bad in general. I fixed it by turning off a few settings. (There were two things I turned off, and it worked like a charm. One was the soap opera effect. Sorry I can't be more specific.) Just know that there is a way!
