Great 4K HDTV for the Price

First...the "Over the Air Channels" picture quality is horrible OUT OF THE BOX. My wife, adult daughter and myself were disappointed. They asked me if I was going to return it. Second...the 4K Samsung Player showed great video quality, as long as it was a bright scene, DARK scenes were way to dark. Third...4K from Netflix and Prime were WAY better than their normal shows/movies, but the 4K was still to black in the darker scenes...but, I had hope. Finally...On Sunday night everyone left after the Thanksgiving weekend and I was able to set in front of the 4K HDTV so I could play with the settings. -DO NOT use just the Preset in TV Video settings..."Dynamic, Standard, Natural, Movie" they are terrible by themselves. ***Go to "Picture Settings" then "Expert Settings"...then take the time to set it up correctly. -The picture turn dark so I went to "Eco Solution" and turned OFF "Power Saving Mode" (Stay bright all the time, does not go dim by itself) AFTER adjust all the settings...My wife was wowed by the Over The Air picture and the 4K Player/Netflix/Prime video is fantasic. NOW, the SOUND is not as good my 7 year old Samsung 3D 1080p HDTV, the bass GREAT on the older TV was incredible...but, my wife has loud bass, so this may be a blessing. -"Sound Mode" = Optimized...is not bad, but not as good as my OLD Samsung 3D HDTV. -I just turn on my sound system if I want better sound. For the price, I am very glad I bought the 4K HDTV...after adjusting.

I bought this TV on Black Friday to replace a 55” Sony TV. Initially the TV seemed to work okay, but I wasn’t impressed with the picture quality. It seemed a bit dark. After a couple days, I started having problems watching Netflix or Hulu through my Firestick. The Firestick never gave me any problems on my old TV. On the Samsung, however, the sound would just suddenly cut out while watching a show on Hulu or Netflix. Sometimes it would even pause the show or kick it back to the Firestick main menu. And after the sound cut out, the TV would no longer respond to the Samsung remote, only the Firestick remote. I couldn’t even turn the TV off! Initially I thought I might be having a problem with my network connection, but then I tried playing a DVD from my Sony Blu-Ray player, and both the sound and picture kept cutting out. I’d never had any issues with this Blu-Ray player before. Thinking there was something wrong with the two HDMI ports on the TV, I contacted Best Buy for them to replace the TV. The Geek Squad thought the problem with my Blu-Ray player was that the HDMI cable didn’t support 4K. I was sure it did, but they tried replacing it, and it did seem to stop the picture from fading to black, at least while they were there. Hulu also played okay when I first tried it. Then the Geek Squad left and not five minutes later, the sound started cutting out on Hulu again. I tried another DVD, and it started fading to black again, even with the new cable! I don’t know if Samsung just isn’t compatible with any components that aren’t also Samsung or what, but I think this TV is going back and going to be replaced with a new Sony.

    Get the NU6900

I purchased this tv on Black Friday expecting it to be a decent tv. I purchased it to replace my 50" Insignia TV (Best Buy house brand) and after getting it all set up I noticed the bezel around the display was warped causing the backlight to show spotty in the top left corner. I brought it back the next day for a replacement, got it home and my surprise it was doing the same thing but the opposite corner this time. Brought that one back and decided to purchase the 65NU6900. Got it home and am very happy with it. I used to work at Best Buy and I saw a lot of 6 Series Samsungs go out the door, knowing that it's not the best of the best but certainly not the worst I figured I'd purchase one. The NU6070 is a Best Buy only model, I'd recommend passing on the NU6070 and purchasing the NU6900 (The non Best Buy model). You'll be much happier.

I thought I had learned my lesson... make sure to try the TV BEFORE mounting it on the wall to make sure it works. I did and it looked great! Nice picture and quality I would expect from Samsung. Took me a couple of hours but I got everything done and sat down with my wife to watch a movie. It was really nice - not a great picture but still good. 30 minutes into the movie the sound cut out and it wouldn't respond to the remote. I unplugged it and let it sit. Then tried again. 10 minutes later the same thing happened. I checked for firmware updates - nope I had the most recent. I reset the TV back to factory and changed nothing and tried again. This time it stopped recognizing anything plugged into the 2 HDMI ports. Another hour to take the piece of trash off the wall, unhook it all and stuff it back in the box. Now I need to return it. Let me also say - Best Buy has been good to me in the past but when I called about this the best they could do was suggest I go out of my way - again - and return it. Then wait a week for another of the same TV to show up and go in - again - to pick that up. Nothing else - just a straight exchange a week later. No thanks. I'll take my money back and run.

    Clouding and blinking light :(

During the day and sunshine, it is barely visible but for most people, it would look great but during the evening I was watching a show and clouding in all 4 corners was so bad that it I had to watch it on my 7-year-old TV. I replaced the unit, which best buy did a great job in delivering and ghosting is much less, which I would be OK with even thou it is not good, but now I have a line of LEDs blinking on my bottom right corner... Not I will probably have to return the item and miss out on Black Friday sales.... without a working TV, very very dissapointed.... I have messed with all of the options imaginable but there aren't many and it would not fix this issue.... (My brother has 55 inch Samsung which I compared this too and thee is night and day difference, between colors and especially when screen is dark).

Never buy a Black Friday TV

Bought the day after Black Friday on a whim because they had a ton of these leftover at my Best Buy. Had no problem buying it, getting it home, setting up, etc, AT FIRST. Quality of picture wasn’t too bad. Was kind of a pain figuring out which screws to use for mounting. Anyways, literally 1 day after the 2-week return period I tried downloading some apps, but the tv would not allow me to login to my Samsung account. Contacted Samsung and they had me reset the whole tv.. which completely messed up the tv. Everything was deleted, apps, picture settings, all of it. I wasn’t able to accept the terms and conditions while setting up after being instructed to do so. I would get an error code and was told to wait 30 days for a software update. Was never contacted after that, so I continued to wait for a reply until a couple weeks ago where I was told they were going to repair the main frame board of the TV, even though they kept telling me it was my internet (not true at all, my Sony Bravia works spot on). Awaiting my appointment scheduling I got an email saying Samsung failed to repair the TV so they were issuing me a refund through my local Best Buy... Longer story short, I returned the tv with vague instructions and got a 7100 from Samsung. Didn’t want to continue with Samsung, as I’m still very bitter towards their awful customer service, but Best Buy employee convinced me to get an actual model rather than the Black Friday TVs. Moral of the story, never buy a cheap Black Friday TV even if the price is tempting.

I bought this TV because I bought a smaller model about a month before I purchased this and I love that TV and thought I would keep a good thing going. This TV has always struggled staying connected to a network; Ethernet or WiFi, didn't matter. I had to reconnect multiple times. After 2 months, the screen began to flicker. It started out infrequently but the last two weeks have been significantly worse and often times the TV will not even turn on to anything visible on the screen. I told Samsung multiple times that the behavior didn't start until a firmware update but they insisted that there is no way to downgrade to see if it made it better. After a week, they sent a tech out that said the issue is one of two panels. Both panels out of stock and unsure when more would be in, indicating a severe issue with this TV model. Now the TV is darn near useless and we are still waiting on Samsung to make it right and let us get a new TV. It will NOT be another Samsung. Apparently this will be getting what we paid toward another TV at BB but, obviously, that is going as slow as the rest of this mess has gone... In short, it is a beautiful TV but be willing to waste a lot of time for any issues with it and expect an issue pretty quick in the TV's life.

After less than 5 months of owning this TV I began to have problems with the picture. It shows bands/lines and funny colors and flashing. The problem persists after factory reset, unplugging all devices, plugged into wall or surge protector, and after a firmware update sent to me by Samsung to install manually via USB (wasn't available via TV download). It happens when watching via HDMI (chromecast & Xbox), via Coax (antenna TV), or via the Tv's apps (TV Plus, Pluto TV, etc). I have read that this model was created exclusively for Best Buy's Black Friday & worry it is a quality control issue. This TV also has less hdmi & usb ports than other Samsungs in this low tier, which didn't bother me, but I believe there are other issues with this model that won't be apparent for everyone, or only after some time. Luckily it is within the 1 year warranty & I am in the process of getting it fixed or replaced by Samsung.

Well, believe the negative reviews. This TV has a very mediocre picture. Even after tweaking, you see blurred lines, digital pixels & little contrast. I tried to return the TV an hour after hooking it up but Best Buy’s system still showed it out for delivery. So after lugging it to the store, I had to leave with it. I have a Samsung 55” TV that I absolutely LOVE. This piece of junk doesn’t compare. If you cannot afford to pay $1000 for a better Samsung model, I would offer you look at Hisense & TCL which offer much better pictures, but questionable long term reliability. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy this TV. The folks giving it good ratings are likely coming off a small, cheap TV & think this is quality in comparison, but it’s really not. Hugely disappointing picture for a UHD 65” Samsung. Tomorrow, weather permitting, this crappy TV goes back to Best Buy.

I bought this TV to replace an old Samsung plasma that has lasted over a decade and still produced a great image. I plugged in this TV and was immediately disappointed. My HD cable looked like trash. I tried to watch the Notre Dame game and their gold helmets looked like flashing disco balls and any movement on the screen blurred the image of the player. I tried adjusting all the settings and all the other online recommendations, nothing helped. I am hoping it is due to the refresh rate only being 60hz, taking it back to try a 120hz TV. Watching a slow moving video on Netflix or YouTube did look fine. And still images panned around like what they do in the stores looked amazing. It is just sports and action that cause the issue. If you don't like sports or high-paced action films you would probably rate this TV much better, but not for me!

I'm confused why everyone that makes it seem like they know everything about technology would stoop so low & buy such a cheap tv only to come on & write bad reviews about it. The specs are all there before purchasing. If you don't like it, go ahead & spend your $$ on a $2k+ tv. I have only bought Samsung tvs way back to the tube tv days & have never had an issue. I bought this to replace a 50" plasma that has been faithfully good to me for the past 9 years. Decided to upgrade & have not been disappointed. Just watched the Browns win on Sunday & loved every minute of it. Movies play great, the sound sounds as though I have surround sound. The picture is crystal clear. It's a great buy for a 65" tv. Period.

Bought this TV on black friday because it was a good deal. The first few days it worked fine. After that it kept saying it was unable to connect to any of the apps. After calling samsung support and doing a factory reset it wiped out everything and kept getting stuck at the samsung terms and agreements page. The error basically said that the samsung servers where down. While one the phone with the agent he informed me that they have been receiving a lot of complaints with the same issue and that there is currently no solution. The only thing he could say was that their engineers are working on a fix. With no estimated repair time i would just have to wait until I receive and email from them. I escalated the phone call to a supervisor and asked since this was their error is my tv still covered by it's 1 year factory warranty? she stated that the warranty only covers repairs and since there is not yet a solution there would be nothing they can do!! I'm will be returning the TV and NEVER... NEVER purchasing another not so "SMART" samsung TV again.

First mistake, order online on Black Friday. Spent Every Day on the phone because they kept changing the delivery. Finally showed 5 Minutes before installation. Has a great picture. The App availability was awesome.Dont even need my Fire stick any more. But on day 3 I kept getting unable to connect to Samsung Server. Today I went on chat for 1,5 hours and the Samsung tech just left no response. Connected again, put down all we had done before, after 30 minutes he connects and starts asking me the same questions I just replied to. He connected into the tv before getting kicked and then had me reset which wiped out all the work I had done setting the tv up and all the apps. Then he had me start to set up tv and it went into error code. Now I have to wait 24 to 48 hours to get an email to tell me what to do. My last Samsung was still working after 9 years and I gave it my granddaughter. Wished I never bought it this one

I had a 55in Roku TV and got this TV, it's good for what you pay for, mainly for the big screen. It's not old, but not new with all of the new tech you get with TV's over 1-2k or oled. It is 4k, I can see the difference but like most people say, it's marginal. don't get this just for the 4k, as it's a marginal upgrade if you use netflix or other streaming media. Also, most movies are encoded 2k and upscaled to 4k. You are best off with Youtube to get the bette "4k" experience. Game mode is buried in the menu, and there is motion blur that I cant seem to tweak just right when there is a lot of movement. This is a good TV if you are looking for a bigger screen with "ok" 4k as long as you know that it's mostly upscaled at the moment. As for my xbox one x and PS4 slim...it does a better job as a gaming TV than movies...Also, the speakers point down from the bottom of the TV, so a Samsung soundbar should be considered.

    Terrible TV

Terrible TV, horrible picture quality, bad audio, everything sounds muffled. To give an idea of how awful the picture quality is, when I was watching a football game, you could not even make out the names on the back of the jerseys, that's how blurry the picture quality is. I initially had my eyes set on a different TV, one that I had done a lot of research on, and was looking forward to buying. I was advised to come back on Black Friday and buy a TV, as they would offer additional discounts, which I did. Upon arrival, a Best Buy rep convinced me to buy this TV instead, it was, in fact, cheaper, and he told me the picture quality was far superior. This was all false, and I am furious. This employee must have made commision off of the lie he sold. Do not buy this TV. You will regret it.

I am not a tech person so this review is strictly based on everyday use and performance. Bought this model on Black Friday. Now I know why they were trying to get rid of it. The first one I received took 3 or 4 pushes of the power button to come on. Every other day the sound would go out and I would have to unplug the tv and plug it back in (learned this thanks to an online forum with others having the same issue, so a known issue). Who wants to do that with something that should work correctly every time? The second one turns on the first time but has the same sound issue. It’s not as bad as the first one - - maybe once a week I have to unplug for sound but I wish I had just requested a refund instead of an exchange. I don’t know what to do now. My friend had to drive down in her truck just so I could take it back for exchange because it’s too big to fit in my car. I pride myself on researching big ticket purchases. Did not do my due diligence on this one.

I knew I wanted a 65 UHD for my particular application. Both for entertainment, and doubling as a large format UHD display for my computer. The salesman at the first place I went talked me into getting the comparable LG model. I returned it within a few days as the picture was terrible and one of the ports stopped working. At that point I was sure I wanted a Samsung so I went for this model and could not be happier. Picture is sharp and bright once you turn off the standard "energy saver" mode. There is some brightness falloff in the corners and along the sides, but that is to be expected with an entry level model like this and it's nothing like the LG which was impossible to see anything in the corners. I wish there was a 3rd HDMI port, but for the price this TV cannot be beat. Of note, the 6900 model only has 2.4ghz wireless. If you plan to rely on wireless for streaming instead of wired, I would recommend going up to the 6950 model for a couple bucks more that has 802.11ac wireless.

This tv is made solely for Best Buy. It's stripped down with 2 hdmi ports. The best feature is the size at 65". The TCL 55" R615 has a superior picture using Dolby Vision that outperforms Dolby HDR 10 in this screen. So, it comes down to wanting a bigger Samsung 65" screen that will likely be gone instantly as a door buster or the smaller 55" TCL with a superior picture and fully available. The samsung is $600 only on black friday and the TCL is currently $600. Just my 2 cents. Here's a good comparison of the HDR10 vs Dolby Vision. Check out the sky. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeBm01NDnUY

I loved our previous Samsung TV, it is still working after I don’t know how many years. That being said, this particular model started going out within 2 1/2 months of buying it. Within three months there was no picture and now I can’t even get it to turn on. I do still recommend Samsung products after all this though. Why? They have an exceptional one year warranty! We’re waiting right now for our new replacement tv from Samsung to come in at no cost to us they’re replacing it. They did not have the part that was needed to fix our current tv. Although as soon as they realized the part was unavailable, they started the process of replacing it with a brand new one either the same model or better. I would have given no stars for this model tv, but you really just can’t beat Samsung’s warranty. Save your receipts people it’s worth it.

This is review of the Samsung 65" LED NU6070 (Model UN65NU6070FXZA) Series 4K UHD TV. Great overall picture quality and great integration with Samsung services (i.e. SmartThings and Smart View). No issue with Xbox One gaming. Sound quality is not the best but given how thin the TV is, there isn't much room to put in high quality speakers. Mount this TV on the well, therefore, cannot verify the quality of the stand. It's thin and look good but not sure how well it will hold the TV upright. Back of the TV is not completely flat. Not a big issue when mounting but it's something that requires few extra washers to account for the curve. Chromecast didn't work perfectly every time with sound being cut out from time to time. Established voice command control through Chromecast to display front door camera (Nest Hello). Smart TV features are with unnecessary apps and advertisements that one can't get rid of.
