“Does the tv remote control DirecTV to record and change channels etc.? Or are both remotes needed?”

• I have Comcast and can do everything thru that remote. Not sure about Direct TV but if it integrates with Comcast then it should with Direct. Also the app on my phone will control everything as well. No remote needed at all if you use your phone.

• The Samsung control will control DirectTv and other devices . It’s a seemless usage once set up through the menu to have the Tv recognize the device.
