The stand does extend, but my Vizio soundbar sits on top of the stand and does not interfere with the viewing area .
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The stand does not stick out far. We have a harmony remote hub and a sound bar. The remote hub fits near the legs. It does not stick out enough that it makes the sound bar look misplaced.

Unless you have the TV on a large TV unit or table, you will most likely have to sit the soundbar on top of the stand. This works OK with my LG SK4D soundbar. If someone were to bump the TV unit really hard, it would probably fall off the stand, but it's fairly stable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a Bose sound system. The sound bar is small enough that it does not cause any problems looking at the tv. The stand does not come into play as the sound bar sits in front of the stand.
