Because of the way the stand is made is it hard to place a soundbar in front of the tv...looks like in the pictures the stand sticks way out in front of the tv null

The stand does extend, but my Vizio soundbar sits on top of the stand and does not interfere with the viewing area .

The stand does not stick out far. We have a harmony remote hub and a sound bar. The remote hub fits near the legs. It does not stick out enough that it makes the sound bar look misplaced.

Yes, the TV footprint is larger than average I would say. Unless you have the TV on a large TV unit or table, you will most likely have to sit the soundbar on top of the stand. This works OK with my LG SK4D soundbar. If someone were to bump the TV unit really hard, it would probably fall off the stand, but it's fairly stable.

I have a Bose sound system. The sound bar is small enough that it does not cause any problems looking at the tv. The stand does not come into play as the sound bar sits in front of the stand.

Run away from SAMSUNG!!! They lost the HDR10+ format war. Go with anything DOLBY VISION or you will be sorry. Do the research and you will see how many HDR10+ movies you can buy versus DOLBY VISION!
