No! Dumbest decision ever made by a TV manufacturer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just found that there is no optical port at my new TV! I have an old receiver with an optical input port to receive audio from TV. Now I have to buy a converter, what a pity!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Apparently you need to buy an HDMI audio extractor that is connected between an HDMI cable (to be used for audio only) and the optical audio cable. This device seems to also require a power source (plug it into a power strip also). I am in the same boat and these things run from $14+ to $35 additional.

I guess if it pairs with something on the TV through Bluetooth, I just leave the optical cable dangling behind the unit? Just hoping I don't have to purchase another set of speakers.

Fortunately running to a Bluetooth amp for surround system but I have to pair them every time I turn the TV on. All the other “smart” features it has … they really believe people are going to be ok only using the upgraded speakers in the Tv? Who uses integrated speakers anymore? Keep all that out include outputs and still be able to lower the price. Or upgrade something else. Bittersweet because otherwise tv is amazing

And Samsung does not even show how to use their MDMI connector ports (on the back of the TV) to connect to a Phonak TV connector which has an optical port. When I use the TV's Bluetooth interface to connect to my Phonak hearing aids, it screws up the volume I have on the TV or the volume going to my hearing aids. Both do not work at the same time. (one on the other is off). I guess I'll just have to turn up the TV volume and not use Samsung's TV bluetooth interface to my Phonak hearing aids. Not happy!!!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The 2025 Q7F does not have an Optical port, but it does come equipped with 3x HDMI ports as well as wireless (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi) capabilities. ~ Samsung Specialist
