Yes, anywhere within the 12-foot or so cable will teach. Your various hdmi inputs (sat, Roku, blue ray, etc.) go into the box. Then the very thin and flexible cable supplied with the tv connects the box to the tv. The box gets warm but not hot, so I suspect the box converts 110 bolts to whatever voltage the tv consumed. Previously that heat generating converter was within the tv. If putting box on carpet, I suggest a thin board etc under it to allow air circulation.

We are still waiting for Best Buy to give us a credit for the TV, so we can buy the wall mount hardware. They tell us they will not issue the credit until a month after dely. So, the TV will continue to sit on the floor.
