“Are they serious with this obnoxious sound? Does anyone know how to turn this off?”

We called BestBuy and asked the same question. They called Samsung for us and found out that "no" you cannot turn it off. However, BestBuy will gladly swap it out for you without charging you a re-stocking fee. We choose to keep it because it really is a very good dryer. I think it is cute but it drives my wife crazy. After about 6 weeks, she doesn't hear it anymore. Enjoy a little Schubert with your dry clothing.
